Spring Term Week 7

What an exciting and wintry week we have just had. I really hope everyone has enjoyed playing in the snow and making some creative snowmen. What a fantastic experience for all of the children - I cannot wait to hear all about the snowy adventures everyone has had!
 
Although it ended up being a very short week at school, Longships class have been very busy. Linking to our topic of Heroes, we are now using this half of the term to look at local heroes, focusing on Surfers Against Sewage and all of the amazing work they do. This has fitted in very nicely with our Non-Fiction unit in English. The children are in the process of writing their Non-Chronological Report about plastic pollution and what is being done to prevent it getting worse. 
 
This week, the class became the school ambassadors for a project called 'Plastic Free Schools' and are on their way to tackling single-use plastics in school and in the local community. This is an ongoing project for the rest of this term and we are hoping as a class and school to make a real difference. Please visit the following website for more information about the project:
