Spring Term Week 2

Longships have had a 'super' busy week as you will see from the pictures attached. It was a lovely start to our 'What makes a true hero?' topic, designing and making our very own super hero crests. The children have also loved learning our class story of 'The Incredibles' this week, taking part in performance competitions and role playing characters too.
For RE, we have begun our focus on Hinduism and this week, we enjoyed finding our about the annual Hindu Lohri festival, where we were able to learn a routine based on the dancing at this festival. In our Foundation Subjects, we have been very interested to learn about true heroes of the past which include Rosa Parks, Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell and what makes them such inspirational people, even after all of this time.
Longships class are very excited about our official topic launch day, which is happening on Monday 15th January- don't forget to dress as a super hero (be as creative with this as you like). We look forward to having such a 'super' day!
