Spring 2 Week 2 Newspaper Writing

Newspaper Writing

And what a short week it has been!

With only two and a half days in school (thanks to the snow that has fallen throughout the UK) we've just about had time to complete half of our weekly unit of work on Newspaper writing.

The children have been been hard at work analysing an exemplar newspaper article linked to the novel 'The Hobbit'. We have begun to write our own but still have some way to go... that'll give us something to focus on next week.

In Maths, we've been learning about algebra, ratio and proportion: all tricky Y6 subjects. Well done to all of Wolf Rock Class for their resilient attitudes these last few weeks.

Don't forget:
  • on Monday, dress in white, black and gold (yellow) for St Piran's Day.
  • on Tuesday, dress in World Book Day clothes, for an exciting day of events and activities.
  • on Wednesday, dress in 'treat day' clothes for a morning of normal lessons and an afternoon of free, creative time in the classroom. Children may bring one toy into school for use during the afternoon.

Hoping everyone is having a great time in the snow,

Mr Cornish
