Spring 2

This week, Trevose have had yet another very busy week! We have been learning about what promotional posters are and what sort of language is used on them. We were hoping to have our charity event next week but unfortunately we were unable to organise a day that could work - therefore, all the funds we have gathered over this term, Miss Hadida will be taking over to Little Harbour.
This afternoon, Trevose have enjoyed their treat for reaching 1000 dojos; pj's and a film!
See you next week.
What a lovely end to British Science week; we learnt about mini beats and used the field with it's natural resources to make bug hotels! Trevose are very creative, we had hotels with trampolines, flowers in gardens, towers, ladders and even a bouncy castle. I think the bugs are going to have a great time.
In Maths, we have reviewed 2D shapes and their properties. Next week we will review 3D shapes and their properties. In Literacy we have written our stories including subordination and coordination - Mrs Gabriele read some stories and was very impressed! Well done everyone and see you next week.

Last week, Trevose had an amazing day at Newquay Zoo. They made us very proud and showed such respect when off site on their trip. We saw so many wonderful animals and learnt all about different animal groups such as amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds.
World book day was postponed last week due to the rare snow that fell. The snow experiences inspired lots of creative writing this week. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our experiences. This week when we had World Book Day, we discussed which books are our favourite and why. We acted out scenes from books and worked together sequencing popular fairy tales. In History we have been learning about the Ancient Egyptians and how they used Hieroglyphics as we use letters for words. Next week we will continue to learn about Ancient Egypt in our literacy story writing and we will be focussing on character descriptions.
Have a lovely weekend!
Welcome back everybody. This week in Trevose we have started to look at features of a diary in literacy. Next week we will make notes at  Newquay Zoo to then write our experiences as diary entries.
In maths we learnt what odd and even numbers up to 100 were and even questioned why. We also reviewed measure from a couple of week ago - everyone did such a good job at recognising all UK coins and notes.
Some children, in their own time, devised a mini drama production of Cinderella, they performed during golden time and it was brilliant! You can tell it's Oscar award  season!
In RE we explored the outdoors for the first signs of spring. Despite this cold weather, we noticed buds on the trees, daffodils starting to grow, the mornings are lighter earlier and it gets darker later now too. Spring is definitely close. This will link in with learning about the Easter story from The Bible.
A very busy first week back!
See you next week and we can't wait to see everyone's World Book Day costumes on Thursday : )
