Gribbin news 26th February 2018

It has been a very short week, but we did manage to have our school trip to the zoo. The trip was very informative. We had a workshop and the children were able to touch and see some insects, They saw a stick insect, a millipede, and a  massive cockroach. The zoo keeper told us his favourite animal in the whole zoo was the cockroach, (it wasn't mine!) They listened to the keeper's talk and asked some thoughtful questions. We spend time walking around the zoo and noticing the colour and patterns we saw everywhere. It was very clear to recognise which animals have good camouflage. Behaviour was excellent. A big thank you to the adult helpers, who were kind and considerate to all the children. I always enjoy spending time with the parent helpers and yes I agree it can be very tiring looking after the children, but it is the most rewarding job I have ever done. Once again I am very proud of the children in my class.
Next week will be so exciting, we have St. Piran's Day on Monday and on Tuesday World Book Day. I can't wait to see the children in their costumes. I am looking forward to the whole morning being about literacy and stories. Please bring in the £1 donation and a photo of your child reading in an unusual place. I want to jazz up the library with photos of every child in the school. It will make it a very special place to learn in.
