Gribbin news 16th April 2018

Welcome back everyone!
This week the children have been learning the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We are learning to tell the story using actions. The children came up with some super ideas for actions. Next week we will write the story over three days, this is to help the children to learn the structure of the story. In Maths the children have been learning to solve problems and next week the focus is on 2d and 3d shapes.

The children have all been given a challenge book to use during playful learning. The children are learning how to find their own book, decide which challenge to complete and once completed to show an adult who will record the challenge. We are keeping a folder of photographic evidence of these challenges and the children will file their own learning in the folder, so they have to learn the skill of finding their own section in the folder, using the hole punch and filing away the photo. The challenges are linked to their early learning goals. Once all the challenges are complete the children win 3 dojo's. At the end of each week the child with the most dojo's wins a prize!

Please listen to your children read daily and record in the reading record books. We only change the reading book if you have signed to say the book has been read at home. The children gain certificates for reading and this regular reading at home will really support you child.
