Grampound Road Village CE School

Autumn Term Week 9

Longships have had a very thought provoking week. We looked at Remembrance Day and had to the opportunity to reflect about what this means. The children designed and created their own poppy which they added to the school display during our Remembrance Service.
The children have begun to learn about biographies and how to write them in English, so look out for their own versions about Alfred the Great on the blog in the near future.
During PSHE sessions this week, we have been focusing on having a Growth Mindset in class and have been looking at what 'Perseverance' really means. The children have developed a class motto: 'I can't do it YET!' Watch the video below to find out more about Growth Mindset.
I would love to say a huge congratulations to Heidi, Olivia and Alice for gaining their pen licences. We expect a high standard of presentation in our books and I have been so impressed with how hard the children have been working to reach this!
