Grampound Road Village CE School

Autumn Term Week 12

This week was exciting as we began learning our new story of Thor’s Stolen Hammer. To continue with our Viking topic, we are beginning to develop skills in writing our very own myth. Our Viking raid dance is also coming along very nicely in PE. The students have been focusing on making each move sharper and stronger plus staying in character to portray Vikings travelling on their longships.

In the lead up to Christmas, the children created some fantastic star decorations out of lollipop sticks on Thursday. Mrs Gabriele will be taking these to hang on the communal Christmas tree in Ladock village. Look out for yours on the tree!

Eeeeek!!! It is getting very close to Christmas so rehearsals for the carol service are now in full swing. We cannot wait for you to hear us performing our class Christmas song and hope you will join in too.

There are lots of Christmas activities coming up in the next couple of weeks including Christmas Jumper day, KS1 Nativity performance, Christmas dinner and also the aforementioned carol service - please read the newsletter or check out the website to ensure you do not miss any of these!
