Grampound Road Village CE School

Autumn Term Week 2

What a fantastic 2 weeks Longships class have had. After learning about our class identity, the children have been working hard on the school routines and rules. Everyone has responded very well to our new Dojo points system (which I am sure your children have told you about) and earlier this week, the class managed to reach their target of 350 points for positively following our school rules, working well as a team and persevering in their class work. Great work everyone!

We started our Viking topic in English this week, practising our story telling skills in order to perform 'Erik and the Sea Dragon' in class. Then continuing with our topic, on Wednesday we used maps to find out about the Viking's homelands and where in Europe they invaded.

Each Friday in Maths, we will be conducting a problem solving investigation- I was very impressed with how well the children have applied themselves in the lessons so far and look forward to this continuing.

And finally, a huge well done to everyone who managed to complete their homework and bring it in on time. Spellings and homework are given out every Friday.

I hope you all have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday.
